Controls setup

This text is not related to Battle for Elements but contains my thoughts about Diablo 2 controls.

I always change controls in any game for those suitable to me and guessed that other people do the same. What a surprise it was when I learned that other people often play Diablo 2 using default controls. They are so damn inconvenient!

I am not telling about left-handed players, they need to adjust below ideas to their situation.
Your right hand is always holds the mouse while the left one is always hanging over a keyboard, when the situation changes in the game you need quickly switch skills and/or perform other actions.

Default controls:

Skills: F1-F8, 8 in total
Switch weapon: W
Open the belt: ~
Potions: 1-4
Run: Ctrl
Show items on the ground: Alt
Minimap: Tab
Character screen: A
Inventory: I
Mercenary screen: O
Quest panel: Q
Skills Tree panel: T

With the default controls you have only potions and 3 or 4 quick skills, switch weapon, run/walk/show items at hand's reach without moving the hand. And if you need, say, to switch Zeal+Fanaticism to Vengeance+Conviction you have to slightly move your hand, and it takes even more time if you additional use Charge+Vigor.

Thus, I have created a personal controls configuration that requires minimum hand moves to reach everything.

My controls:

Skills: QWERASDFZXCVGHBN, 16 in total
Switch weapon: T, Mouse 5
Open the belt: ~
Potions: 1-4
Run: Ctrl
Show items on the ground: Alt
Minimap: Tab
Character screen: F1
Inventory: F2
Mercenary screen: F4
Quest panel: F5
Skills Tree panel: F3

As a result you get just under your left hand without moving it anywhere controls for potions, 12 quick skills, weapon switch and run/walk/show items. Most used stats screens are also compacted to the single space.
